L’APPARTEMENT 49C’s First Iteration explores the act of waiting and the passage of time, themes deeply tied to my personal experience with the visa process. This exhibition transforms waiting from a passive state into a creative and meditative act. I use minimalist, symbolic materials like translucent clouds, receipts, and books to evoke the mundane moments of waiting, while layered, sanded down foundations of the canvases evoke the slow unfolding of time.
Found objects, such as shells and bones, reminds me of impermanence and memory—what remains after something has passed. The hanging sculpture, with duck eggshells and dried orchids, symbolises the remnants of life and the transition from one state of being to another.

it’s a feeling.
